A few minutes of the right care keeps tapware bright, glaze smooth and silicone sound. These are general guidelines; your product manuals always take priority.
01Tapware and shower fittings
Wipe taps and shower heads with a soft damp cloth and dry them after use, especially in hard-water areas where spots build up. Mild soapy water is enough for everyday cleaning.
Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, vinegar-based descalers and products containing acids or solvents. They can dull chrome and damage brushed, matte black and brass finishes. If a finish needs more than soap and water, check the manufacturer care guide first.
- Clean aerators and shower nozzles every few months to keep the flow even
- Rub rubber shower nozzles with your thumb to clear limescale
- Turn mixers off gently; overtightening wears cartridges
02TOTO toilets and Washlet seats
TOTO glazes are designed to stay smooth, so a soft brush or cloth with a mild neutral cleaner is usually all a bowl needs. Harsh abrasive powders scratch glaze and make it easier for marks to stick.
For Washlet seats, unplug or switch off before cleaning, wipe the seat and lid with a soft damp cloth, and use the nozzle cleaning function where your model has one. Follow the user manual for your model, as features and filter maintenance differ.
- Do not use bleach or chlorine tablets in the cistern
- Keep the power point and cord dry
- Call us if a Washlet shows an error you cannot clear
03Basins, baths and vanity tops
Ceramic and vitreous china clean easily with a non-abrasive cleaner. Acrylic and stone-composite baths and basins scratch more easily, so use a soft cloth and avoid scouring powders.
Wipe vanity tops dry around the basin and tap, because standing water gets into joins over time. Do not stand on vanity tops or lean heavily on wall-hung basins.
04Tiles, grout and silicone
Squeegee or wipe shower walls after use to limit soap scum and mould. Clean grout with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft brush rather than strong acids, which can eat into grout and some stone.
Silicone joins around the shower, bath and vanity are maintenance items. If silicone turns black, peels or lifts, have it cut out and replaced before water gets behind it.
- Ventilate: run the exhaust fan during and after showers
- Seal natural stone as recommended by the supplier
- Report drummy or cracked tiles early
05Cabinetry and joinery
Wipe cabinet doors and drawer fronts with a soft damp cloth and dry them. Avoid harsh chemicals and steam on edges, where moisture causes swelling.
Keep the bathroom ventilated, and do not leave wet towels hanging over doors. If a hinge or runner loosens, have it adjusted early so it does not wear the cabinet.
06Warranty and service
Warranty terms depend on the product and manufacturer. Keep your invoice and the product manuals we hand over at the end of the job, as you will need them for any claim.
